2018 Santro vs 2018 Datsun Go Comparison

The launch of new Santro has increased the competition for other existing cars in the entry-level hatchback segment. The Santro was the first car in the Indian market to feature a tall-body design while offering a decent amount of cabin space. Now in 2018, the South Korean manufacturer has brought back the very same car with refreshed looks and added features.

On the other side of the comparison is the 2018 Datsun Go. With the 2018 Go hatch, the Japanese manufacturer, Datsun, is trying hard to establish itself on the Indian soil. So let’s see which car is better in terms of design, specifications, features, and safety.

Exterior Design

Hyundai Santro 10

The new 2018 Hyundai Santro is based on old i10’s platform, and hence, it sports a similar design as the old i10. But look closer and you can see the differences, as it gets a new and bigger cascading-type front grille with fog lamps on either side. Other design elements include swept-back front headlights and 14-inch steel wheels with full wheel caps.

Datsun GO 1

On the other hand, the Go hatch is a well-designed car from the Japanese manufacturer, Datsun. The car looks proportionate and a dynamic front grille makes it stand out of the crowd. The Datsun Go also gets the first-in-segment LED DRLs and the stylish first-in-segment diamond cut R14 alloys, which are absent in new Santro.

Interior and features

Hyundai Santro 16

The new 2018 Hyundai Santro comes with a dual-tone interior and gets a 7-inch infotainment system with various features like navigation, voice command, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other convenience features include power windows, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, day and night mirrors, and more. Hence, the new Santro is well-equipped despite being an entry-level hatchback.

Datsun Go

On the other hand, the new 2018 Datsun Go facelift looks simple yet practical. The car gets simple plain black themed interiors with mild aluminium accents in the dashboard and on the steering wheel as well. Other than this, the car gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual AC system, power windows, anti-fatigue seats, and more.

Datsun GO 2

Safety-wise, the new 2018 Datsun Go is much better equipped as all the variants get ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, front dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, Central Locking, and an immobilizer as standard.

Verdict: 2018 Hyundai Santro or 2018 Datsun Go?

Hyundai Santro 12

Both the cars are very well equipped and equally match in terms of specifications.
