BMW Motorrad has launched the new F 850 GS Adventure motorcycle in the Indian market. The BMW F 850 GS Adventure is offered in only one ‘Pro’ variant and it is priced at ₹15.40 Lakh ex-showroom (India). The BMW F 850 GS Adventure will be sold in India as a CBU unit and bookings for the motorcycle are open across all the BMW Motorrad dealerships in the country.
The BMW F 850 GS Adventure draws power from the same 853cc inline, parallel-twin engine that produces 94bhp and 86Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox assisted by a self-boosting anti-hopping clutch to reduce engine drag torque.
The BMW F 850 GS Adventure is an off-road focussed motorcycle and comes equipped with spoke wheels: 21-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear, USD forks at the front with 230mm travel and monoshock suspension at the rear with 215mm travel. The motorcycle also comes with a 23-litre fuel tank and an increased seat height of 875mm.
The adventure motorcycle also gets a host of electronic aids such as Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and two riding modes: Rain and Road. Apart from that, there are two optional riding modes: Dynamic and Enduro which also comes with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and ABS Pro.
Other prominent features of the BMW F 850 GS Adventure include LED headlights, adjustable rear brake and gear levers, an adjustable windscreen, bash plate and knuckle guards. Similar to the standard variant, the F 850 GS Adventure is available with optional accessories such as a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
