Force Motors has introduced the ABS-equipped Gurkha off-roader SUV in the Indian market. The Force Gurkha ABS Xplorer three-door variant is priced at ₹11.05 lakh. The Gurkha ABS Xplorer five-door and the top-spec Gurkha ABS Xtreme three-door is priced at ₹12.55 lakh and ₹13.30 lakh, respectively.
The Force Gurkha Xpedition (three-door and five-door) which is the base variant in the lineup misses out on the safety net of ABS. With the addition of ABS, the Force Gurkha Xplorer and Xtreme are dearer by ₹30,000. Apart from that, there are no changes on the ABS version of the off-road SUV.
Force Motors launched the new top-spec Gurkha Xtreme in December 2018. The Force Gurkha Xtreme draws power from a new 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 138bhp. The exterior of the Xtreme is also slightly different with LED turn signal lights, revamped bumpers and ORVMs and new body graphics.
To comply with the new safety norms which will come into effect from July 2019, we expect Force Motors to roll out another update for the Gurkha range. The updated model will be equipped with safety features such as driver-side airbag, reverse parking sensors, front seatbelt reminders and speed alert system.
