Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) has revealed the crash test results for the Jaguar I-Pace electric SUV. The all-electric SUV from Jaguar has scored an impressive 5-star safety rating in the latest crash tests.
In the adult protection category, the Jaguar I-Pace scored 91 percent while the electric SUV scored 81 percent for the child occupant protection. The Jaguar I-Pace scored a healthy 81 percent for safety assist.
Euro NCAP conducted the side barrier impact test and the more severe side pole test and the I-Pace scored maximum points in both the tests. The electric SUV provided good protection in all the critical body areas.
The Jaguar I-Pace features a lightweight aluminium body structure that delivers high levels of stiffness. The aluminium frame also delivers the highest torsional rigidity. The design also includes industry-first use of aluminium forgings and post-form heat treatment to increase the strength of aluminium alloys.
The Jaguar I-Pace electric SUV comes with safety features such as autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. The I-Pace also gets a unique Audible Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) to warn the road users.
The Jaguar I-Pace also features advanced driver assistance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control with steering assist and a 360-degree parking aid. Now, Jaguar’s Pace SUV family, E-Pace, F-Pace and I-Pace, have the maximum 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
