Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM recently launched the 790 Duke in the Indian market. Now, Autocar India reports that the KTM 790 Adventure will be launched in the country in 2020. The KTM 790 Adventure will comply with the BS-VI emission norms and it will be expensive than the 790 Duke.
The KTM 790 Adventure is underpinned by the same platform as the 790 Duke. KTM is expected to bring the 790 Adventure to India via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, similar to the 790 Duke. KTM is likely to introduce the base variant of the 790 Adventure in India while the top-spec 790 Adventure R is also under consideration.
The KTM 790 Adventure draws power from a 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 93bhp and 88Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Both the variants of the adventure motorcycle get similar power figures and comes equipped with a 21-inch front wheel.
The KTM 790 Adventure R variant gets 48mm WP USD forks with 240mm travel at the front and the base variant gets 43mm WP USD forks with a travel of 200mm upfront. Braking duties on both variants of the motorcycle are handled by twin 320mm discs at the front and 260mm disc at the rear. Expect the KTM 790 Adventure to carry a price tag of around ₹10 lakh ex-showroom.
