World’s 8th largest automaker, Kia Motors has rolled out the first mass-production unit of the Seltos from its Anantapur manufacturing facility in India. The Kia Seltos is off to a good start in the Indian market with over 23,311bookings in just three weeks. The bookings for the Seltos began on July 16, 2019, and the SUV will be launched in India on August 22, 2019.
Kia Motors announced that the company has commenced the mass production of the Seltos in record time. The Anantapur manufacturing facility is spread across 536-acre and it has an annual capacity of 3 lakh units. The plant is also capable of manufacturing hybrid and electric vehicles.
The Kia Seltos will comply with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms right from the launch. The Kia Seltos will be offered with three engine options: 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission options on the Seltos include a 7-speed DCT, IVT, 6-speed AT and 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Kia Seltos will be available in tow trim lines: GT Line and HT Line. The SUV will be offered in 8 monotone and 5 dual-tone colour options. The SUV comes loaded with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting ventilated driver’s seat, UVO Connect System and much more.
When launched in India, the Kia Seltos will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and the recently launched MG Hector. Expect the Kia Seltos to be priced in the range of ₹11lakh to 17 lakh ex-showroom.
