Kia Motors is all set to enter the Indian market with the SP2i SUV which is based on the SP Concept. The Kia SP Concept was revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo. Now, Kia Motors has released the sketches of the upcoming SUV. The sketches reveal the front and rear profile of the SP2i SUV.
The front profile of the Kia SP2i features the signature tiger nose grille, sleek headlamps, vertically stacked fog lamps on the bumper, a large central air dam and prominent character lines on the bonnet and bumper. The overall design of the front profile is similar to the concept model.
The rear profile of the SP2i SUV looks wider and sharper and features a chrome bar connecting the tail lights. The SUV also gets dual exhaust pipes with chrome tip and the sloping roofline gives an aggressive look to the SUV. The SP2i also features an HMSL and skid plate at the rear.
The Kia SP2i SUV is expected to draw power from a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Transmission options will include a manual and an automatic gearbox. Kia Motors is expected to launch the SP2i in India in the second half of 2019. The production version of the SP2i will be revealed in June 2019.
When launched in India, the Kia SP2i will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming MG Hector.
