Kia Motors has introduced two new top-spec variants of the Seltos SUV in the Indian market. The two new variants of the Kia Seltos are GTX+ petrol and GTX+ diesel and both the variants come with an automatic gearbox. The GT Line variant now gets a diesel engine option and it is a good move by Kia. Both the new variants of the Kia Seltos carry a price tag of ₹16.99 lakh ex-showroom (India).
The new GTX+ petrol variant of the Seltos draws power from a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that produces 138bhp and 242Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The GTX+ diesel model draws power from a 1.5-litre engine churning out 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The newly introduced GTX+ variants are dearer by ₹1 lakh as compared to the GTX petrol DCT and HTX+ diesel AT trims. The Kia Seltos is offered in two trim lines: Tech Line and GT Line. The HT Line trims are targeted towards conventional buyers while the GT Line is the sportier variant targeted towards buyers looking for performance.
The GTX+ variants of the Kia Seltos come loaded with additional features such as electric sunroof, an 8-inch HUD, a 360-degree camera, Bose audio system, leatherette seats and front parking sensors. The GTX+ trim of the Seltos also gets six airbags and rain-sensing wipers. Not that these features are not available on the Tech Line trim of the SUV.
With the introduction of two new variants, the Kia Seltos is now priced between ₹9.69 lakh for the base petrol trim and ₹16.99 lakh for the top-spec model. The bookings for the new GTX+ variants ae open and the deliveries are likely to begin in October.
