British automaker MG Motor is all set to start its India innings with the launch of the Hector SUV. Now, ET Auto reports that the MG Hector will be launched in the Indian market on April 2, 2019. The MG Hector is expected to be launched at a starting price of ₹15 lakh.
Apart from that MG Motor has also revealed that the Hector will be one of the most technologically advanced vehicle with embedded eSIM. The MG Hector will be manufactured at the company’s Halol plant which was opened in 2017. MG Motor India has been testing the Hector on Indian roads for quite some time.
MG Motor has also confirmed the launch of a pure electric SUV in the country. The upcoming electric SUV is expected to be called as MG Marvel X. Initially, the electric SUV will be launched in a phased manner in selected cities. The electric SUV is likely to have a range of over 250km.
The MG Hector and the electric SUV are expected to feature the same connectivity features with eSIM. With the eSIM, the MG Hector will be always connected to navigation, applications, multimedia and transactions. The SUV will be also IPv6 ready and OTA-enabled. This will allow MG to update the OS in the vehicle.
