Mahindra & Mahindra launched the Marazzo MPV in the Indian market in 2018. The Mahindra Marazzo is offered with a diesel engine mated to a manual gearbox. Now Autocar India reports that Mahindra will soon launch the Marazzo AMT in the country.
During the launch of the Marazzo, Mahindra had announced that the automatic variant of the MPV will be introduced in 2020. Mahindra had planned to introduce the automatic gearbox with the petrol engine. But now, with the growing demand for the Marazzo, Mahindra has decided to offer AMT gearbox with the diesel engine.
Mahindra has not revealed any information regarding the Marazzo AMT. But we expect the Mahindra Marazzo AMT to be launched in the coming months. The Mahindra Marazzo rivals the likes of Maruti Ertiga which is offered with a torque-convertor automatic gearbox with the petrol engine.
The Mahindra Marazzo draws power from a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 121bhp and 300Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox delivering power to the front wheels. The Mahindra Marazzo comes loaded with features and it is available in seven and eight-seater configuration.
Mahindra will also introduce the petrol variant of the Marazzo in 2020, just before the BS-VI emission norms come into effect. Currently, Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of the XUV300 compact SUV which is scheduled to take place on February 14, 2019.
