Maruti Suzuki has updated the Alto K10 with additional safety features to comply with the new safety norms. The Maruti Alto K10 gets additional safety features such as a driver-side airbag, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system and front passenger seatbelt reminder.
With the addition of new safety features, the Maruti Alto K10 carries a price tag of ₹3.66 lakh for the base variant and the top-spec model carries a price tag of ₹4.45 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom (Delhi). From April 1, 2019, all the new cars should be fitted with ABS.
From July 1, 2019, all the new cars should be equipped with safety features such as driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and front seatbelt reminder. Maruti Suzuki has gone ahead and updated the Alto K10 with all the necessary safety features ahead of the deadline.
But from October 1, 2019, the new crash test norms will come into effect and Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce the next-gen Alto which will comply with the stringent crash test norms. Apart from the Maruti Alto K10, Renault Kwid is the only entry-level car to come with driver airbag as standard. The Datsun redi-GO gets only ABS as standard across all the variants.
