Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Celerio hatchback has achieved the one lakh annual sales milestone in India. Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the company sold 1,03,734 units of the Celerio in the financial year 2018-19. The sales of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio grew by nearly 10 percent as compared to the previous year.
Maruti Suzuki has stated that the top-spec ZXI trim of the Celerio accounts for 52 percent of the total sales and 20 percent of total sales are of CNG variant. The Maruti Celerio was the first car to get AMT or AGS (Auto Gear Shift) and nearly 31 percent of customers opted for the AMT variant of the hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki launched the Celerio in the Indian market in 2014 and the company launched the facelifted avatar of the Celerio in 2017 and the crossover variant called as Celerio X was also launched in the same year. Since its launch, Maruti Suzuki has sold around 4.7 lakh units of the hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki recently updated the Celerio and Celerio X with additional safety features to comply with the new safety norms. The Maruti Celerio now comes with standard safety features such as driver airbag, ABS, reverse parking sensors, front seatbelt reminder and high speed alert system.
