India’s leading passenger vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Dzire compact sedan has achieved 19 lakh sales milestone in India. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire was launched back in 2008 and since then it has been consistently appearing in the top-selling cars list. Now, India’s popular compact sedan has achieved another milestone.
Maruti Suzuki sold 2.5 lakh units of the Dzire in the financial year 2018-19 and the monthly average sales stand at 21,000 units. In fact, every two minutes, a new Dzire is sold in the country. This reflects the popularity of the Dzire in the Indian market. Apart from that, the Maruti Dzire has a commanding market share of 55 percent in the compact sedan segment.
The new Maruti Suzuki is based on the new HEARTECT platform and the compact sedan features a new design language. With the new design, the Dzire looks premium and upmarket as compared to the outgoing model. The new Dzire also comes with a host of premium features which complements the new design.
The Maruti Dzire draws power from a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The prices for the Dzire start at ₹5.70 lakh and goes all the way up to ₹9.54 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire rivals the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo.
