Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new six-seater version of the Ertiga in the Indian market on August 21, 2019. The premium avatar of the Ertiga will be sold through the premium Nexa dealership network. Apart from the six-seater Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki is also readying two new SUVs for the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki will introduce the S-Presso micro-SUV which is based on the Future S concept. Now, ICN reports that Maruti Suzuki will also introduce a premium SUV which will be slotted above the Vitara Brezza. The new premium SUV in question is the new-gen Vitara and it is expected to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Maruti Suzuki has been testing the S-Presso micro-SUV on Indian roads for quite some time and it is likely to be launched during this year’s festive season. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be based on the HEARTECT platform and will rival the likes of Mahindra KUV100, Renault Kwid and the upcoming Tata H2X.
The new premium SUV from Maruti Suzuki is expected to be offered in 5 and 7-seater variants. The next-gen Vitara will lock horns with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Kia Seltos and MG Hector. The new Vitara will be a crucial product for Maruti Suzuki as the company is trying to make a name for itself in the premium end of the market.
Apart from the two new SUVs, Maruti Suzuki will also introduce the facelifted Vitara Brezza with the BS-VI compliant petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki has already announced that it will phase out the diesel engines by early 2020 due to the BS-VI emission norms.
