South Korean automaker Hyundai has revealed the new Grand i10 Nios and it will be launched in the Indian market on August 20, 2019. Now, Hyundai has announced that the company has commenced the production of the Grand i10 Nios in India. Hyundai has rolled out the first unit of the Grand i10 Nios from its Chennai manufacturing plant.
The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be sold alongside the regular Grand i10 and it will be slotted below the Elite i20. Hyundai has also started accepting bookings for the Grand i10 Nios, ahead of its launch. The Grand i10 Nios will be launched in India before it hits the European market later this year.
The overall design of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is inspired by the new Santro. The front end of the hatchback gets the signature cascading grille, LED DRLs on the edges of the grille, projector headlamps and fog lamps. The new Grand i10 Nios also features new alloy wheels and chrome door handles.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will draw power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engine. Both the engines are expected to be BS-VI compliant and power output might also vary slightly. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo.
