Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new WagonR in the Indian market on January 23, 2019. Maruti Suzuki has already teased the WagonR facelift and all the details of the hatchback have been revealed. Now, CarDekho reports that the new WagonR will not get a CNG variant at launch.
The currently sold WagonR is offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit and the CNG variant is popular in the commercial segment as well as private buyers. The CNG option is offered on the Lxi and LXI (O) trims which is priced at ₹4.73 lakh and ₹4.92 lakh, respectively.
The new 2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR will be offered with a 1-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1-litre unit produces 67bhp and 90Nm of torque while the 1.2-litre engine is good for 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. The new WagonR will be offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The new WagonR features a new design which looks premium and upmarket as compared to the current model. The updated hatchback also gets a revamped interior and the top-spec model will be equipped with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls and much more.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer the CNG variant of the new WagonR at a later phase. The currently sold WagonR CNG will be discontinued once the new model will be launched. The new WagonR will rival the likes of Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago and Datsun Go.
