Suzuki recently launched the new Gixxer SF 250 and the updated Gixxer SF in India. Now, it looks like Suzuki is working on another new product. Yes, a report from BikeWale states that the new Suzuki Intruder is expected to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo and it will be followed by the launch.
The report states that Suzuki is working on updating the Intruder which was launched in India in 2017. The new Suzuki Intruder is likely to get the new 250cc engine which was introduced with the Gixxer SF 250. The currently sold Intruder lacks that punch and the 250cc engine will enhance the performance of the cruiser.
The new 250cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine produces 26bhp and 22.6Nm of torque. But Suzuki might tweak the gearing on the new Intruder to match the characteristics of the cruiser. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox as compared to the 5--speed gearbox of the current model.
Suzuki might also tweak the design of the Intruder, but the overall dimensions of the cruiser are likely to remain the same. The cycle parts will also remain the same with telescopic forks up front and monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties will be handled by discs at both ends with ABS as standard.
We expect the new Suzuki Intruder to comply with the new BS-VI emission norms. The new Intruder is expected to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo and the launch is likely to take place closer to the festive season.
