We take a quick look at the upcoming cars and SUVs that are set to be launched in 2019.
Tata Motors is all set to launch the Harrier SUV in the country in January 2019. All the details of the SUV have been revealed and the only thing missing is the pricing. The Tata Harrier is based on the Land Rover Discovery’s platform and features the new Impact Design 2.0. The Tata Harrier is expected to carry an on-road price tag between ₹16-21 lakh.
Nissan is expected to launch the Kicks SUV in India in January 2019. The company has already revealed Kicks in India and it is bigger than the globally sold model. The Nissan Kicks will be equipped with a host of features. The Nissan Kicks will rival the Hyundai Creta and is expected to priced between ₹10-15 lakh ex-showroom.
Honda showcased the new Civic at the Auto Expo 2018 and the company is expected to launch the new Civic in February 2019. The facelifted Civic will feature a more premium and sporty design. The new Honda Civic will draw power from a 1.8-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki will introduce the new WagonR in India in early 2019. The hatchback will retain its tall-boy design and will sport a different design than the global-spec model. The new WagonR will be more premium and upmarket as compared to the currently sold model.
Ford Figo Facelift
Ford is expected to introduce the Figo facelift in the Indian market in the first half of 2019. The facelifted Figo will be similar to the new Aspire The interior of the hatchback is expected to be similar to the Aspire. The engine options might include the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel unit.
Mahindra is gearing up to introduce the Maruti Vitara Brezza rival that is codenamed as S201. Mahindra has been testing the compact SUV for quite some time and the production version will hit the Indian roads in 2019. The Mahindra S201 will be a rebadged version of the SsangYong Tivoli.
Hyundai Compact SUV
Hyundai is also readying its new compact SUV codenamed as QXi. The overall design of the compact SUV will be modern with cascading grille and other modern design elements. Details are scarce about the QXi but we can expect the compact SUV to get a 1-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk
Jeep will finally launch the Compass Trailhawk in the Indian market in 2019. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be a capable off-roader with high ground clearance and new Rock mode. Cosmetically, there are subtle changes done on the front end of the SUV.
