The Honda City has been a popular mid-size sedan in the Indian market and in recent times it is facing a fierce competition from its rivals. Now, ICN reports that Honda has started working on the next-gen City to maintain its supremacy in the mid-size sedan segment.
The report states that the new Honda City is expected to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo and it will be followed by the launch in February or March 2020. The new City will grow in dimensions and the legroom and headroom will be better for the rear passengers.
The next-gen City will draw power from BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel engines. The report also states that the City will be offered with mild-hybrid technology. The hybrid system will be introduced with the petrol engine to rival the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz petrol model with SHVS mild-hybrid system.
The diesel version of the new City will be equipped with the 1.5-litre unit that produces 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. The new City diesel will be also offered with a CVT gearbox option. The interior of the new City will be refreshed and it will get additional features to keep up with the competition.
