Japanese automaker Nissan has revealed the next-gen Sunny sedan. In the global markets, the Nissan Sunny is named as Versa or Almera. The eleventh-gen Nissan Sunny features an all-new design language which is a big leap from the design of the outgoing model. The overall design of the new Sunny is inspired by the bigger Altima sedan.
The new Nissan Sunny is based on the V platform which also underpins the global-spec Kicks SUV. Up front, the new-gen Nissan Sunny features the signature V-motion grille and sleek boomerang-shaped headlights. The sedan also gets newly designed alloy wheels, floating roof design and a larger rear door.
The interior of the new-gen Sunny looks almost similar to the Kicks SUV. The interior is equipped with features such as a floating touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls and soft-touch leather treatment for the dashboard.
The global-spec new Nissan Sunny will draw power from a 1.6-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The same engine also does its duty on the global-spec Kicks SUV.
Nissan has not revealed any information about the launch of the next-gen Sunny in India. If the new Nissan Sunny is introduced in India, it is likely to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The new-gen Sunny will rival the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris.
