Renault Kwid achieves 3 lakh sales milestone in India

Renault Kwid, the entry-level offering from the French automaker has achieved 3 lakh sales milestone in India. The Renault Kwid was launched back in 2015 and it has been a key product for Renault. The Renault Kwid rivals the segment-leader Maruti Alto and the hatchback has performed well in the Indian market.

The USP of the Renault Kwid is its butch design, segment-first features and a spacious cabin. Renault has also updated the Kwid with additional standard safety features to comply with the new safety norms. The average monthly sales of the Kwid stands at 10,000 units which reflects the popularity of the hatchback.

The Renault Kwid comes loaded with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster (segment-first) and much more. The standard safety features of the Kwid include driver’s side airbag, ABS with EBD, speed alert system, ISOFIX child seat mounts and front seatbelt reminder.

The Renault Kwid draws power from a 0.8-litre petrol engine producing 53bhp and a 1-litre petrol engine producing 67bhp. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 1-litre engine is also available with a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Renault is now working on the Triber 7-seater model which is based on the tweaked version of the CMF-A platform. The Renault Triber will be revealed on June 19, 2019.
