The Renault Triber recently made its global debut in India. Now, Autocar India reports that the Renault Triber will be launched in the Indian market in early August 2019. The Triber is a crucial product for the French automaker in India as the company aims to double its sales by 2020.
The Renault Triber is a compact MPV and it is based on the modified version of the CMF-A platform which also underpins the Kwid. The Triber is a seven-seater and it comes with a completely removable third-row seat to liberate space for luggage. The MPV also gets roof rails and body cladding which gives it a rugged look.
The interior of the Renault Triber features a dual-tone dashboard and comes loaded with features. The Triber is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, engine start/stop button, AC vents on third-row and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
The standard safety features of the Triber include dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors and high speed warning system. The top-spec models will also get four airbags and a reverse camera.
The Renault Triber draws power from a 1-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Renault might also offer a 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine at a later phase. Expect the Renault Triber to carry a starting price tag of around ₹5.30 lakh ex-showroom. The Triber will take on the likes of Datsun Go+.
