Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the Harrier SUV in the Indian market and all the details of the SUV have been revealed. Now, a report from Financial Express reveals the launch details of the Tata 45X premium hatchback.
The Tata 45X concept was showcased alongside the H5X concept at the Auto Expo 2018. We have already spotted the near-production version of the Tata 45X in Ooty. Now, the President of Tata Motors passenger vehicle business, Mayank Pareek has stated that the Tata 45X will be launched between July-September 2019.
The Tata 45X will be based on the advanced modular platform (AMP) that is named as Alpha Arc. The overall design of the Tata 45X will be sharp and aggressive and will feature the signature Humanity line.
On the mechanical front, the Tata 45X is expected to draw power from the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.1-litre diesel engine. Both the engines will be turbocharged and will produce an enhanced power output. A manual gearbox will be offered as standard while an AMT gearbox is under development.
When launched in India, the Tata 45X premium hatchback will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20. We expect the Tata 45X to be priced in the range of ₹6-10 lakh ex-showroom.
