Tata Motors has revealed its new electric vehicle technology brand which is named as Ziptron. The Ziptron electric vehicle technology will power a range of upcoming Tata Electric Cars. The first electric car to utilise the Ziptron technology will be launched by the end of 2020. The electric version of the Tata Altroz will be the first electric vehicle to get the Ziptron EV powertrain.
The Ziptron electric vehicle technology comprises of a permanent magnet AC motor with regenerative braking. The electric motor draws power from the advanced lithium-ion cells which will deliver a driving range of 250km on a single charge. Talking about charging, the Ziptron EV powertrain will support fast charging.
Apart from that, the battery pack will be liquid-cooled and will be packed in IP67 casing. The battery will have a warranty of eight years, thanks to the efficient Battery Management System (BMS). The powertrain also gets a cooling circuit to deliver consistent performance in hot weather conditions.
