Tata Motors recently revealed the Ziptron electric vehicle technology for its upcoming electric vehicles. Now, Tata Motors has announced that the Tata Nexon electric will be launched in early 2020. The Tata Nexon will be the first model to utilise the Ziptron EV technology. Tata Motors has not revealed any details about the Nexon EV, but the company will target a range of around 300km. The Tata Nexon EV is expected to be priced in the range of ₹15-17 lakh.
The Tata Nexon electric will be powered by the Ziptron technology with an efficient high voltage system offering zippy performance and with fast charging capability. The battery and the motor will come with an 8-year warranty. The battery and motor come with IP67 dust and waterproof housing.
Apart from that, Tata Motors has also launched an advertising campaign named as #TheUltimateElectricDrive. Under this campaign, Tata Motors will test the Nexon EV by driving from Manali to Leh. The route features some of the toughest terrains and it will be a perfect testing ground for the Nexon EVs durability and performance. The extreme weather also adds to the challenge.
After the launch of the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Motors will also introduce the Altroz EV which was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Tata Motors will also launch the updated Tigor EV. When launched in India, the Tata Nexon EV will take on the upcoming electric Mahindra XUV300.
