Toyota has introduced a new base variant of the Glanza, which is the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The newly introduced Toyota Glanza G MT variant is priced at ₹6.98 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The new base variant if offered with the 1.2-litre petrol engine and it does not get the mild-hybrid system.
Compared to the Glanza G MT Smart Hybrid variant, the new G MT trim of the Glanza is cheaper by ₹24,000 and it makes the hatchback more affordable. The Toyota Glanza is offered in two trims: G and V, based on the Baleno Zeta and Alpha trim, respectively. The new G MT trim of the Glanza gets the same set of features as the G MT Smart Hybrid trim.
The Toyota Glanza G MT base variant comes with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, steering-mounted controls, dual-tone alloy wheels and much more. The safety features of the Glanza MT include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt reminder, high-speed warning system and much more.
The newly introduced Toyota Glanza MT draws power from a BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual. Due to the lack of a mild-hybrid system, the fuel efficiency is slightly reduced and it stands at 21.01km/l. The Glanza is also offered with an optional CVT gearbox.
